Your trips are yours. We don't see them.

Last updated: 21 October 2026

Ritvast is made by A Brand New Company (ABN). In short: your trips stay on your phone. You need no account and we have no server that receives your trips. We don't see them.

What we don't do

  • You don't create an account. We don't know your name, email address or phone number.
  • There are no ads, no analytics, no tracking and no third party crash reporting in the app.
  • We sell nothing and share nothing, because we have nothing.

What stays on your phone

Your trips (times, places, kilometres, route, purpose and notes), your cars and odometer readings, your places, your settings and the list of changes. The app also remembers on your phone when you first opened it, and with which version.

This is in the app and in your phone's normal backup: iCloud on iPhone, Google on Android. Only you can get to that. You can make your own backup file, and erase everything in Settings.

Your location

Ritvast uses your location to log your trips: where you leave, where you arrive and how many kilometres you drove. With Always it does so even when the app is closed. While you're parked, the app uses no GPS. Your location stays on your phone.

On iPhone, Ritvast also asks for Motion & Fitness. With it the app sees that you're in a car, so a trip starts on time and your battery is spared. That data stays on your phone too.

Rather not share your location? Choose By hand. You then type in your trips and Ritvast uses no location.

What your phone or the app looks up itself

The app looks up a few things elsewhere. None of it reaches us.

  • Street names. Your phone's address service receives a trip's start and end point to turn them into an address. On iPhone that's Apple, on Android Google.
  • The map. OpenFreeMap provides the map images. The map area and your phone's IP address go along.
  • Only when you tap it yourself. Your licence plate to the RDW's open data, to look up the make and model. And your search text to PDOK, when you look up an address.
  • A version check. Now and then the app fetches a small file from this website to see whether a new version is needed. Nothing about you goes along, apart from the IP address every internet connection has.

Notifications

After a trip you get one notification on your own phone: business or private? If you choose half automatic or by hand, you can turn on a reminder. Notifications come from the app on your phone itself, not from us.

Sharing and exporting

A PDF, spreadsheet, expense claim or backup file only goes where you send it, for example your own email or your accountant. We don't receive it.

Download

You download Ritvast from the App Store or Google Play. We receive no personal data about you. Apple and Google only show us figures that can't be traced to you, and crash reports from people who chose to share them with developers.

Deleting

Delete the app and your trips on that phone are gone, apart from what's in your own backup. So save your yearly PDF first. There's nothing on our side to delete.

This website

This website uses no cookies, no analytics and no scripts or fonts from others.

To deliver the page to you, our host Vercel Inc. processes technically necessary data, like your IP address, the page address and the time, in server logs. We do this on the basis of legitimate interest: without that data a website doesn't work and can't be protected against abuse. We only use the logs when something goes wrong, and can see them for a day at most. We don't keep or export them. Vercel keeps them a short while longer for security, under its own privacy policy.

Vercel is an American company, so data may go to the United States. Vercel is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which allows that transfer under the GDPR.

Cloudflare Inc. only answers DNS lookups for this domain: it points your browser to Vercel. Your visits to the pages themselves never pass through Cloudflare.

If you email us, we use your address and message only to answer you, also on the basis of legitimate interest. We keep the email while your question is open and at most a year after, and delete it sooner if you ask.

Who is responsible

A Brand New Company (ABN), Volume 88, 1446 WJ Purmerend, the Netherlands. Chamber of Commerce (KvK) 88565548. Reach us at info@abn.company.

Because your trips never reach us, there's nothing about them for us to show, correct or erase. If you emailed us, you can always ask to see or delete that email. You also always have the right to complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

Changes

If this policy changes, we update this page and the date at the top. If the app ever starts sending anything to us, we'll say so beforehand, in the app and in the stores.
